New Zealand is a country that is not in EPCOT all year so it is nice to see them at the Food & Wine Festival. We enjoyed the Lamb Meatball with Spicy Tomato Chutney and Venison Sausage with Pickled Mushrooms, Baby Arugula & Black Currant Reduction.
The lamb was well presented and went with the chutney. Not too bold but a nice dish to try. The venison sausage on the other hand was to die for. The black currant reduction was the bow that tied it all together. By far this sausage and all of the sides on one fork together was the best dish we had so far in our tour of flavors.
The Kim Crawford Unoaked Chardonnay did not live up to it’s name. I am not a big fan of the oaky wines so thought I would give this a try and was not impressed. The oaky flavors were still present in the glass but not too much that I could not finish. I would not be fooled again by the “Unoaked” Chardonnay.
